As hiring slowly picks, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has weighed in with new guidance on criminal background checks.  Additionally, unemployed individuals are beginning to allege discrimination in hiring and other legal issues hang over the selection and hiring process.  This seminar provides an overview on what employers should be aware when interviewing and hiring, including:

•    EEOC guidance on criminal background checks
•    Title VII disparate treatment discrimination
•    Refusals to hire based on past legally-protected activity
•    Offer letters
•    Social Media searches
•    Drug and Alcohol tests
•    Credit checks
•    Reference check liability
