Affirmative Action Certificate Program

Course Content

This course is for federal-government contractors and sub-contractors.  It is an overview of the Executive Order 11246, enforcing federal Affirmative Action regulations.

Participants will learn: required elements in an Affirmative Action Program, including the latest regulatory changes which should now be included in their current AAP; what the workforce tells OFCCP; "hands-on" formation of compliant job groups; factor 2 analysis which drives goal setting; and using the Narrative as a diary of good faith efforts.

The course will draw upon experiences with OFCCP audits, enforcement, negotiating conciliation agreements, audit procedures as well as outreach efforts and practical tips.

Four Sessions

Classes are 2.5 hours, from 9:30am-12pm, and begin on October 26th and run through November 16th (four consecutive Wednesdays).

Job Groups vs. FLSA Standards

A unique class that will demonstrate the difference of job grouping your employees in contrast to where they are categorized for FLSA or EEO-1 purposes. Barbara will be joined by Amy Vazquez of EANJ who will provide an in-depth understanding of FLSA classifications.

Instructor

Barbara Cordasco has been with EANJ for close to 31 years during which she has written several hundred Affirmative Action Plans for government contractors and financial institutions. She has been instrumental in successfully guiding companies through well over 100 OFCCP Compliance Reviews. Additionally, she conducts workshops and answers member questions regarding Affirmative Action requirements and provides in-house training and consultation to companies on writing, maintaining and updating an AAP.

Barbara also does in-house diversity training for EANJ members. She is a member of the North Jersey Chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management; the American Association for Affirmative Action and is an invited attendee at the quarterly New Jersey Industrial Liaison Meetings (ILG).

Attendance Requirements

Participants must attend all 4 sessions in order to earn their certificate.  Please note that courses are meant to build upon the knowledge gained in each previous session, and as such are not offered individually.

Costs

$1,200 per person (EANJ member)
$990 per person for two or more members from the same company
$1,500 per person (non-members)

Cancellation Policy

In order for a full refund of registration fees, written cancellation requests must be post-marked 30 days prior to commencement of the first session. Late cancellations will be charged a $250 cancellation fee. In the event a participant must cancel after the program begins, the participant will be refunded on a pro rata basis for future cancelled sessions and charged a $250 cancellation fee.

Parking is available on a first-come first-serve basis.  We request that you only park against the rear-wall of the parking lot and not in the spaces directly in front of the building as those are reserved for tenants.  Street parking is also available but please be mindful of the signs.
