NJ Minimum Wage Increases for 2017
New Jersey’s minimum wage will increase to $8.44 per hour beginning January 1, 2017. The rate is tied to the consumer price index for all urban wage earners. This is a $0.06 cent increase per hour over the current wage of $8.38.
Federal Contractor Minimum Wage Increase
Beginning on January 1, 2017, the minimum wage-rate floor for certain Federal contractors and subcontractors, required by President Obama’s Executive Order 13658, will be $10.20 per hour. The new rate is a $.05 increase over the 2016 minimum wage rate.
NJ Benefit Rates Increases
The NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development has published their proposed maximum benefit rates for Unemployment, Workers’ Compensation, Temporary Disability and Family Leave Insurance. While these rates are only proposed at this time, it is expected with they will take effect in January.
