NJ Minimum Wage Set to Increase January 1, 2027

New Jersey’s minimum wage for most workers will increase to $16.48 per hour beginning January 1, 2027.  The 56-cent increase is the annual adjustment based on the Consumer Price Index, as required by the state Constitution.  Read the NJDOL press release here.

The NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development has proposed increases for the maximum weekly benefit claims filed in 2027: Workers Compensation: $1,241 (up from $1,199 in 2026) Temporary Disability Insurance: $1,158 (up from $1,119 in 2026) Family Leave Insurance: $1,158 (up from $1,119 in 2026) Unemployment: $937 (up from $905 in 2026)
