The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) recently weighed in on the possible application of Title VII and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to employees who are victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking. Additionally, last year the agency decided that discrimination because of transgender status could be viewed as discrimination based on sex under Title VII finding that the term “sex” encompasses both biological and sex gender stereotypes. Finally, the EEOC’s most recent Strategic Enforcement Plan lists systemic recruiting and hiring discrimination as a top priority with a continued focus on equal pay issues.
Join us on Thursday, March 14th for a discussion with the EEOC for guidance on how to best comply with these recent developments including how managers should handle these employment situations without bias or stereotyping and possible accommodations under the ADA.
EANJ will donate all proceeds of this session to Shelter Our Sisters in Hackensack, NJ.
