Form I-9 Workshop

Printer-friendly version
Time:9am-12pm
Location:EANJ Training Room, Livingston
Sponsored by:EANJ

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE), is committed to increased work-site enforcement, particularly in cases of low skill and high turnover industries.  With New Jersey having one of the largest immigrant populations in the nation, it is not surprising that the state produces the greatest amount of penalties after a Form I-9 inspection.  This staggering statistic makes it crucial for employers to audit their I-9’s.

Although the Form I-9 is only 3 pages, there are over 500 technical errors that can be made in completing the form.  Additionally, there is a 65 page manual that was created to assist employers with this obligation, which emphasizes the importance of knowing the proper procedures and practices for completing this form.

This program is an overview of:  IRCA- *The Immigration Reform & Control Act; how to properly fill out the I-9 form; when & how to reverify an employee; retention of the form and practical tips to avoid costly mistakes.

Special Agent Torpey, ICE IMAGE NJ will review current worksite enforcement policy and the ICE IMAGE program.

Join us for an extremely informative discussion with:
