Employees may occasionally be less productive than usual or may disclose that they're stressed or going through a difficult time in their lives. Or more troubling issues like drug and alcohol abuse, psychological problems, and family/life crisis can take a serious toll on the workplace. Employees might even have a crisis or "meltdown" while at work.  In these situations, HR managers must advise and support supervisors and often suggest referrals to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) or other appropriate intervention.

This two-hour session will help HR managers:

  • How to Recognize Troubled Employees,
  • How to Assist Troubled Employees,
  • How to Conduct a Corrective Interview,
  • Do’s and Don’ts in Taking Corrective Action (the Americans with Disabilities Act),
  • Overview of Workplace Assistance Options, and
  • The Employee Assistance Program.
