Job advertising is strictly governed by the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination (LAD), which is enforced by the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights within the Department of Law and Public Safety. The Division has also issued guidance on job interviewing. This one-hour webinar will summarize the legal do's and don'ts of advertising and interviewing, including:
- Gender neutral job ads,
- Off limits words, terms, phrases and expressions,
- Discrimination based on unemployment status,
- Smokers' rights,
- Applicants with disabilities,
- Accommodations for religious practices, and
- Questions that can and cannot be asked in a job interview
