**Special HR Alert - Supreme Court Upholds subsidies on Federal Health Exchanges

Printer-friendly version

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that the federal government can continue to provide subsidies to anyone living in a state that did not set up its own marketplace. While residents of about a dozen states, including California and New York, are not affected by the decision, people living in the 34 states that chose to have the federal-government run their exchanges, including New Jersey, will continue to be eligible for assistance. 172,345 New Jersey residents receive about $648 million in subsidies.
